About
The site
Request Florida Recordsis a plain-language guide to Florida's public records law. Our job is to translate Chapter 119 of the Florida Statutes into the steps a citizen, journalist, or lawyer can actually take. We publish foundational explainers, demand-driven FAQs, and ready-to-send templates.
Every article cites the statute it relies on. We do not give legal advice and we do not take cases through this site. If you need representation on a specific matter, talk to a Florida attorney.
Founder
Request Florida Records was founded by Adam Bair. He started the project after watching ordinary people get stonewalled trying to obtain records the law plainly says are public. He writes occasional pieces and reviews the substantive content.
